Driving Safety Rules around School Buses

There is only one instance that comes to mind when a vehicle is not required to stop for school buses. That is when the school bus is in a four-lane roadway and stopped in the opposite direction.

During any other time, one must stop before passing a school bus. This allows the safety of the passengers loading and unloading from the school bus.

An individual’s license will be suspended if they pass a stopped school bus while their lights are flashing and stop arm is extended.
