Another School Goes Solar in Oregon – Ruch Outdoor Community School
Yet another school is making the switch to solar power! The Ruch Outdoor Community School in Jackson County, Oregon decided to make the switch.
The Medford School District aims to have around 33 solar panels installed by the end of the school year this year. The panels should generate around 12,483 kilowatt-hours annually. Making this switch should save the district approximately $2,000 in energy costs annually.
The school won $24,000 last year from Pacific Power through a program called, “Blue Sky Renewable Energy”. The parent-teacher organization was able to gather another $9,000 to donate to the cause.
