100 Percent Solar School
Virginia is Home to the First 100 Percent Solar School
The first 100 percent solar school is in Bath County, Virginia. Valley Elementary has gone totally solar and joins the growing list of solar schools in America.
In 2014, The Solar Foundation announced that 3,700 K-12 schools have installed some sort of solar infrastructure. On average, a solar school can save around $21,000 per year on their energy bill.
If 72,000 schools went solar, that would offset nearly one million car’s worth of gases. The list of solar powered schools is growing and we need to ensure it keeps growing.
